NEAR SOURCING GUATEMALA TECHNOLOGY

In Guatemala Central America we have the following technological trends:

1. Microsoft population with is based on elementary, high school and university courses. This population has knowledge on programming languages like Java, Visual Net, Visual Fox and most of the other Microsoft programming languages. They complement with database SQL. They are all familiar with Microsoft Office in the different versions and all the tools that work with graphic presentations for publicity. This would be a more or less 99% of the technological population.

2. Open Source population wich is based on free courses and university courses. This is a growing population. Most of them used all mayor linux distributions as the operating system and some with the knowledge of Unix. They complement with database like MySql or Postgresql. They used platforms and programming languages like Ruby on Rails, Python, Pearl, c and PHP. In the future I believe this population will grow basically because of the low or no cost of its working tools.
